Four Brooklyn men have been arrested in connection with a scam involving the iPhone, writes the New York Times. Michel Origval, Elorge Zamy, Ulyses Campbell and Christopher Thervil have been charged with robbery and possession of a weapon, following a string of incidents in which people responded to Craigslist ad promoting a bulk sale of iPhones. The men would arrange meetings with potential buyers on Flatbush street corners, only to steal money and any other possessions they had with them. The strategy, says the New York Police Department, was intended to catch people bringing the amount of money demanded in the Craigslist ad. The suspects were arrested in a sting operation, and have so far been connected to four out of 12 similar robberies that took place between March 8th and June 4th.
