Kensington has announced "Works with iPhone" certification from Apple for its line of battery packs and chargers for the iPhone 3G. The line includes full-size and miniature battery packs, car chargers and September arrivals for an International Travel Charger and a Power and Sync Cable. The products work with the Apple iPhone 3G, 2G and iPod touch. The chargers include a full-sized battery pack, the Battery Pack and Charger for iPhone and iPod, which offers iPhone users 6 hours of talk time and 21 hours of video playback. The Mini Battery Pack and Charger for iPhone and iPod attaches directly to the iPhone, extending out about a third the length of the phone itself. It provides an additional three hours of talk time or six hours of video. Both chargers work with any iPhone, iPod touch or iPod with a dock connector (excluding the third generation iPod). The larger pack retails for $70, while the mini-pack retails for $50.
Kensington's car chargers include the Kensington Car Charger for iPhone and iPod, which provides power from a car's 12-volt power socket, for $20. The deluxe version, the Kensington Car Charger Deluxe for iPhone and iPod, offers a flexible cradle for securing an iPhone while charging and costs $50. Both are compatible with any iPhone, iPod touch or iPod with a dock connector other than the third generation iPod.
The International Travel Charger ships in September, with plugs for over 150 countries, for $40. Also shipping in September is the Power and Sync Cable for iPhone and iPod, which will be sync and power any iPhone, iPod touch or iPod with a dock connector, except the third generation iPod, for $15.
