Convergent Living, a designer of control systems, has announced the addition of Apple's iPhone as a new interface for its suite of control applications. Convergent's control architecture is now accessible from anywhere by means of the iPhone using free, off the shelf software from Apple. The architecture lets users control various aspects around a building, such as lighting, temperature or alarm systems. In-home requirements are a Companion SideKick controller or a NEO8, 10 or 15 Smartscreen and router port forwarding.
"Companion smartscreens and now the iPhone deliver unparalleled ease of use and wide-area-network (WAN) mobility for accessing and managing all home systems from a single interface or location. Very cool," says Craig Slawson, Chief Wizard at Convergent.
