David Steele Enterprises has announced the iBreath, an accessory for the iPhone and iPod touch that works as both a breathalyzer and a wireless FM transmitter. For the former task, owners plug the iBreath into a player, set it to the proper mode, and blow for at least five seconds to determine alcohol level. The device also comes with a timer, which can be set to anywhere from one minute to eight hours in order to prompt a future test.
Each iBreath is priced at $80, and comes with a USB cable and a 12V car plug, the latter of which allows use separate from an Apple handheld. Shipping is expected to begin towards the end of December.
