JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South Africas Telkom (TKGJ.J) on Tuesday said it was still in discussions with a Vodafone (VOD.L) unit for part of its stake in mobile operator Vodacom, sending its shares up 1.90 percent.
Africas biggest telecomms company said that independent talks with a consortium led by Mvelaphanda Group (MVGJ.J) for its entire share capital were also ongoing.
"Shareholders are therefore advised to continue to exercise caution when dealing in Telkom securities until a further announcement is made," the firm said in a statement.
At 0823 GMT, Telkoms shares were trading up 0.92 percent at 132.20 rand.
