Buzzwire has added 22 new content partners for its mobile streaming media service.
The company expanded its offerings recently to include more original Web content and Internet TV.
Major U.S. wireless carriers offer Buzzwire and users can sign up for a free two-week trial for a limited time. Subscribers can view original Web programming with one-click and discover the most popular content. They can also create their own mobile media channel and share favorites.
"Todays media consumers have grown up with online video and they are accustomed to getting access to their favorite entertainment on demand," Andrew MacFarlane, CEO of Buzzwire, said in a statement. "Whats more, their mobile phones have become their constant connection to the world. With Buzzwire, they can now create their own personal and portable video channel that they can enjoy by themselves or with friends during small moments of downtime or whenever they want."
One of the partners, Next New Networks, boasts over 25 million video views a month through its distribution networks, which include YouTube, iTunes, and Tivo. Herb Scannell, CEO of Next New Networks, said his company will benefit by tapping into Buzzwires audience base so fans of the networks shows can access content anytime, anywhere.
"Partnering with Buzzwire is a natural extension for us," Scannell said in a prepared statement. "It brings our networks to users in a new and exciting way that extends our Internet programming beyond the PC and adds a compelling new approach to sharing content with friends."
