AT&T on Tuesday announced pricing for the new iPhone 3G, along with tips on how customers could find one of the new phones once it goes on sale on July 11 at 8 AM.

The iPhone 3G will be available for $199 for the 8 Gbyte model and $299 for the 16-GB model, with a two-year contract. But these prices are only for customers who purchased a first-generation iPhone before July 11, customers who are activating a new line with AT&T, or current customers who are eligible for a phone upgrade.

Those who arent eligible for the discounts must pay $399 for the 8-GB model or $499 for the 16-GB model. In the future, AT new customers will pay $36.

There is no prepaid plans for the iPhone 3G, but customers are eligible for an upgrade, AT&T said.

"We cant wait to offer iPhone 3G to our customers, and we want to make sure the buying process is as easy as possible," said Ralph de la Vega, president and CEO of AT&Ts wireless unit, in a statement. "Considering all the great new features of iPhone 3G, we think our pricing and monthly plans present a tremendous value for consumers and businesses alike."

Business customers, meanwhile, must contact an appropriate business representative for pricing, AT&T said. Business users also must pay $45 per month for the Enterprise Data Plan.

Consumers, meanwhile, have a choice of four data plans, which bundle voice and unlimited data use, subject to AT&Ts terms of service:

AT&T Nation Unlimited: Includes unlimited Anytime Minutes for $129.99 a month.
AT&T Nation 1350: Includes 1350 Anytime Minutes and unlimited Night & Weekend Minutes for $109.99 a month.
AT&T Nation 900: Includes 900 Anytime Minutes and unlimited Night & Weekend Minutes for $89.99 a month.
AT&T Nation 450: Includes 450 Anytime Minutes and 5,000 Night & Weekend Minutes for $69.99 a month.

AT&T will offer FamilyTalk plans, with bundled voice and unlimited data, starting at $129.99 a month for two iPhone 3G lines. Up to three additional iPhone lines can be added for $39.99 each, AT $15 (1,500 messages), or $5 (200 messages).

AT&T is also posting "Get iReady" tips and frequently asked questions at the companys iPhone Web site. The site also will include a link for customers to check their upgrade eligibility and other wireless account information, the company said.
