DIRECTORY OF IPHONE AND IPOD TOUCH WEB PAGES DEBUTS
toochr has introduced the first web directory exclusively created for iPhone and iPod touch. In its release, toochr contains more than 1,000 web pages from all over the world optimized for Apple's mobile platform; this figure is increased each week with dozens of new additions. toochr has been conceived to be used on an iPhone or iPod touch, its interface shares Apple application's look and feel and philosophy, to make it natural and intuitive. It has more than 130 categories and subcategories to navigate.
TWO SCREEN SHARING TUTORIAL BOOKS RELEASED
TidBITS has announced the release of two new screen sharing tutorial books. In the 88-page Take Control of Screen Sharing in Leopard, Fleishman helps readers determine which form of screen sharing to use: iChat, Bonjour, direct to IP address or hostname, Back to My Mac, or a third-party option. He then explains how to set up and work with each option, and how to access more features in the hidden Screen Sharing application. The book also covers how to share screens with people who are running older versions of Mac OS X or Windows, and it includes troubleshooting information and assistance with configuring routers for screen sharing. In the 100-page Take Control of Back to My Mac, Fleishman changes gears to focus on the Back to My Mac service also introduced in Leopard. Each title costs $10, or they can be purchased together for $15
LOS ANGELES FINAL CUT PRO USER GROUP CELEBRATES 8 YEARS
The next meeting of the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group (lafcpug) �will be Wednesday, June, 18, 2008 beginning at 6:45 PM at the Gallery Theater in Hollywood, California. It will be "Happy 8th Birthday lafcpug Night." The meeting will celebrate the eighth anniversary of the lafcpug. It was just eight years ago that lafcpug held its first meeting in a small post production room in Burbank, CA. with Approximately 30 people attended that watershed event. Now, with a membership of over 5000 people worldwide, lafcpug has grown into the single largest and most influential Final Cut Pro User Group in the world. To help us celebrate will be veteran film editor and Associate Professor and Head of the Editing Track at USC's School of Cinematic Arts, Norman Hollyn. Norman will speak on the "craft" of editing.
